Synapse provides qualitative and quantitative assessment of environmental risks as well as business advice to owners and developers. We outline risk management options in a business context that help determine the best approach for managing the risk.
One alternative is to legally transfer the environmental liability of the property entirely to a third party, with the option to retain or transfer title to the property. To facilitate liability transfers, Synapse will:
- Assist in identifying developers and end users of the property to transfer liability to or take title to strategic properties through our Synapse Property group.
- Develop and implement environmental liability closure strategies.
- Leverage our high level access into the major insurance markets to structure competitive products that provide financial assurance and protection against cost overruns and pollution liability;
- Provide technical and financial support during the underwriting process to advance the insurer's understanding of the work plan, risk elements and costing; and
- Facilitate and improve lending opportunities by bringing financial security to the asset.
